It’s Grand Final Night!

19 Jun

I had so much fun yesterday working with Amanda Percival on her make up and hair before the Grand Final of the Voice!  What a huge night for her and all Darren’s family.

Amanda is a gorgeous woman and an absolute natural beauty.  Recently she and Darren have moved to the Gold Coast with their two beautiful children and her beauty and style reflect that.  We discussed in a previous meeting how she never wears red lipstick, so we decided tonight was the night!  She would wear Red lipstick.

I started Amanda’s make up with a light Chanel Luminisor.  I wanted to give her a gorgeous glow and light to her skin.  Amanda’s skin is naturally beautiful so she needed very little foundation and just a light concealer.  I used a Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Blushed rose on the apple of her cheeks to continue that “pretty” look.  On her eyes I used a Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black to give her a slightly winged eyeliner.  I kept the rest of her lid a little smokey with a light grey that tied in great with her dress.  For her lips I used a gloss from a new product range I have discovered called Mikatvonk by Make Up Artist Jay Jay.  I love this gloss and it was the perfect choice for Amanda because it gave her a red lip but it was light, sheer and easy to wear.  Sometimes I find red a really difficult and high maintenance colour to wear, especially if you have fine lines around your lips.  This is a perfect compromise – the power of a red lip in a gloss!

The atmosphere in that room was so happy and excited.  Amanda’s two beautiful children were there as was Darren’s mum.  Then his brother arrived with his wife and parents in law.  I felt like part of the family!  It was a huge party!  There was even cake!!

and, of course, champagne!

and although Darren didn’t win “The Voice” everyone knows he is destined for big things with his beautiful wife next to him….

Tomorrow I’m off to the MAC store to research some products for the big, upcoming make up competition.

Talk tomorrow,
